Pieter graduated cum laude from Leiden University in 2023 for his master's degree in Civil Law with a specialization in intellectual property law. In his master thesis he investigated whether trademark and design law hinder the transition to a sustainable and circular economy and how these obstacles can be mitigated.

During his studies, Pieter gave pleading training to undergraduate students, participated himself in an international moot court competition (EUniWell moot court competition), assisted clients in subdistrict cases as a freelancer and gained experience within IP law as a student trainee.

Pieter joined LXA Advocaten in September 2023 as a working student in the Intellectual Property, ICT and Privacy section.
