Valentijn graduated cum laude from the Law & Technology master's program at Tilburg University, where he specialized in intellectual property law. He wrote his thesis on the copyright treatment of the creative output of artificial intelligence systems. Besides Dutch law, Valentijn has a base of international law by following the bachelor Global Law.

Valentijn has been part of the Intellectual Property, ICT & Privacy team of LXA Advocaten in 's Hertogenbosch since 2022. Before starting at LXA Advocaten, Valentijn gained work experience as a lawyer and did internships at several law firms.
