Willem is co-founder LXA Attorneys and is leading the LXA Insolvency and restructuring department.

Willem is specialized in Insolvency Law and, consequently, has been involved in many reorganizations, (re)financing processes, bankruptcies and moratoriums. He has been receiver and administrator of dozens of companies. Given the overlap between this experience and the practice of transactions, a combination of insolvency Law and guiding mergers and acquisitions is logical. This is why Willem has been mastering this field since 2002.

In the context of the aforementioned, Willem has been involved in numerous of mergers and acquisitions, both national and cross-border, large and small. Specialties: mergers & acquisitions corporate restructuring and insolvency law.

Willem is a member of the Dutch Association of Insolvency Lawyers (INSOLAD) and the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).

• Leading the sale of Dutch Plastics as receiver in the bankruptcy of Dutch Plastics Holding B.V.
• Leading the restart of the businesses of ComServe Networks Netherlands B.V./Brand New service B.V. as receiver in the bankruptcy of these companies
• Leading the M&A team that supported and guided the sale of Invito and Le Ballon 
• Leading the M&A team that supported and guided the sale of FC Den Bosch to foreign investor
• Sparring partner to various entrepreneurs on legal, business economic and strategy issues
• Leading the restart of Van Gerwen Taxi (130 employees found a new job) as receiver in the bankruptcy of  this company
• Advising Deus ex Machina (DEM) on various corporate matters during/ in consequence of the Corona crisis
