Irma is part of LXA’s Commercial Contracts team and has over 25 years of experience as a specialist in private (international) law and commercial law. She advises and litigates in matters involving (international) commercial contracts (such as agency, distribution and franchise, manufacturing licences, general terms and conditions), consumer law, national and international, complex liability and insurance issues in both civil proceedings and national and international arbitration (NAI, RvA, ICC, UNCITRAL and ad hoc).

For years she has successfully assisted both Dutch and foreign businesses in the international trade sector and in the commercial provision of services. Irma has particular expertise and experience in retail and travel and in the field of technology & manufacturing issues and the related disputes.

Irma is known for her hands-on approach. In legal proceedings she manages to securely reduce complicated situations to their essence.

Irma's recent work includes
  • Distribution agreement for a Dutch supplier of functional clothing with a French distributor
  • Legal advice for a Dutch agent regarding agency agreements with an English principal for the German and Scandinavian market
  • Intenational arbitration proceedings (NOFOTA) in first instance and in appeal for a German client
  • General terms and conditions in accordance with the European Directive on package travel and linked travel arrangements for international operating online travel agent
