Nina has registered the following principal legal practice area in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

  • Civil Procedure Law

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calender year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.

Nina is head of the practice group Litigation and Arbitration.

Nina is a recognised specialist in complex legal issues in the field of law of obligations, property law and private international law. She has specialized in corporate and commercial litigation (including trade disputes, shareholder disputes and directors’ liability) and advises enterprises in commercial contracts.

Nina passed with honours the Grotius specialization course ‘National and International Contracting’, the most extensive and comprehensive postgraduate course in the field of contract law. She contributed to the legal manual ‘SDU Commentaar Vermogensrecht’ and publishes in JIN (magazine on Dutch case law).

Nina is a member of the ‘commissie civiel’, a consultative body of the ‘s-Hertogenbosch Bar Association and the East Brabant district court.

Nina's recent work
  • Successful as defence attorney for an international trust fund in proceeding with the Amsterdam District Court in a complex dispute between the beneficiaries of the trust fund, the board of the trust fund, real estate investors and an escrow agent.
  • Attorney for claimant in arbitral proceedings under the ICC rules in Osaka (Japan) on the termination of an international distribution agreement.
  • Advises and litigates on behalf of a company producing chemicals in a (product)liability matter. Damages were suffered in multiple jurisdiction, also outside of the EU. The matter involves different aspects of international private and procedural law.
  • Advises a shareholder in a family run production company in proceedings with the Enterprise Division of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal and in parallel civil proceedings with the district court of Amsterdam.
  • Successfully advised on pledge structures in the health sector, which led to a landmark judgement of the Supreme Court about a pledge established on work in progress.
  • Successfully advised and litigated on directors’ liability in proceedings after referral by the Supreme Court
