LXA LAUNCHES SERVICE TO RECLAIM DOMAIN NAMES

LXA LAUNCHES SERVICE TO RECLAIM DOMAIN NAMES

10 March 2016

LXA N.V. is constantly seeking for improvement of its services in the field of brand protection. Together with the Dutch Domain Name Authority SIDN we developed a tool that enables us to get real-time information on domain names ending with .nl (the Netherlands) with a defined word combination. For those clients using our service, every domain name in which one of their brand names or their licensor’s word marks (pre-selected/earmarked by the brand owner) occurs which is registered with the SIDN will appear on our radar, instantly

If desired, we can request/summon the registrant to transfer the domain name. In the event a registrant is not willing to transfer the domain name voluntarily a WIPO complaint or civil proceedings can be started. A WIPO complaint is often the most efficient way to retrieve a domain name.

Interested brand owners can obtain a single paged memo in which we briefly explain this new service.

So far, we have booked good results with this service. Over fifteen domain names have been surrendered voluntarily. One domain name has been transferred on the basis of a WIPO decision. The domain name is now safely linked to the brands’ homepage.

This tool is effective, pro-active and low-priced and seamless fits our best practice in the field of brand protection.
